Mirantes (Viewpoints) is the exhibition of Rumos Artes Visuais 2008-2009 opened to the public from August, in Rio Branco. The selection of the curator Alexandre Sequeira and assistants Gabriela Motta and Janaina Melo brings works that deal with a symbolic and poetic way of the notion of area – work that reflects not only what the artist thinks, but also the place where this thought is made. In pursuit of universal, the selected works evoke fragments and senses of place by the artists.
There are landscapes and desolate movements of the ?Vale-o-Peso? fair (?Worth-the-Weight?) in Belém, as explains Sequeira, ?Every place mentioned becomes a symbol.? The 27 works to be displayed in the Juvenal Antunes Art Gallery in capital of Acre are a selection of 72 selected works in Rumos Artes Visuais 2008-2009. After roaming for four capitals (Brasilia, Curitiba, Rio Branco and Salvador), the Rumos fully shows the ?Trilhas do Desejo? (?Trails of Desire?), with all artists and works selected in this edition of Rumos, and launches a bilingual book and a documentary on DVD in December in Rio de Janeiro. Artistas / Artists:
